He was addressing a gathering at an awareness programme organised as part of Crime-prevention Month at William Richards School in Kolar Gold Fields on Wednesday. Parents must educate children about crime and the role of police, he said.
Sub-inspector Manohar suggested that children have telephone number of police stations and control room.
School Administrative Board chairman R Taylor and headmaster Rajesh were present.
Later, schoolchildren took out an awareness rally in the town.
