Jithendra Kottari, BJP district unit spokesperson, has called the Congress booklet on the Rafale deal a ‘big bundle of lies’.

The booklet was released at the Congress Bhavan on Saturday.

“Without an anti-incumbency wave in the country, the Congress is demoralised and is manufacturing such lies to mislead the voters,” Kottari told reporters.

“Instead of anti-incumbency, there is a ‘pro-incumbency’ wave in favour of the NDA government. The booklet is a fictional film directed by AICC president Rahul Gandhi and other senior Congress leaders. Realising that the movie will flop, they decided to release a trailer in Dakshina Kannada. If there was any truth in the corruption charges in relation to the Rafale deal, the Congress would have released the booklet at the national-level,” he alleged.

28 questions

Further, on the 28 questions posed by the Congress to the BJP, Kottari said that the BJP was not required to answer Congressmen. “During the 2014 election, the BJP had promised ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and has duly delivered. The NDA government’s welfare programmes aimed at all citizens of the country, unlike the Congress, which aims to woo a particular section of society,” he stressed.

Stepping up the ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign to counter the Congress’ ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ campaign, Kottari said that the BJP’s campaign has been supported by people from all walks of life.

The leader said, “Modi has enhanced the country’s image. The decision related to defence and security of the country has only helped the country.”

“Demonetisation had affected only black money in the possession of a few Congress leaders, terrorists and Maoists in the country. It had not affected the common man. In the past five years, more than four crore jobs have been generated in the country. In the transport sector alone, more than one crore jobs were generated. In the government sector, 35 lakh to 40 lakh jobs were generated,” he listed out.

‘DK candidate in a couple of days’

When asked about the candidate from Dakshina Kannada, Jithendra Kottari, BJP district spokesperson, said that the name will be made public in a couple of days.

When his attention was drawn to the audio clip where a BJP worker threatened to commit suicide if Nalin Kumar Kateel was fielded as the BJP candidate, Kottari said, “We need not attach importance to the clip, even if it has gone viral on social media.”
