Railways: 130 booked for ticketless travel

A record number of 130 cases of irregular travel were booked including 54 cases involving higher penalty. A sum of Rs.23, 866 was collected as fines.

Similar surprise and ambush checks would be continued in the coming days also. Passengers are warned that they should always buy tickets before commencement of journey to escape penalty and possible prosecution under provisions of Railways Act 1989, the release added.
