Rain hampers search operation

The BBMP officials on the ground were sceptical about finding any traces of the boy’s body in Hennur Lake as on Thursday.
With heavy rainfall on Wednesday, it was impossible to work on the lake area, as excavators were unable to plough through the shifting ground to de-weed.
The search came to a standstill for almost the entire morning on Thursday.
With one excavator nearly submerged, the remaining three could not be used fully in assisting MEG in de-weeding process. However, army men were still working their way through the dense weeds.
A single JCB was ploughing through the weeds towards afternoon.  In another distant corner, a new JCB which was to be used for the search was offered a ‘puja’
