Rain lashes Kalaburagi, Uttara Kannada

Incessant rain lashed various parts of Uttara Kannada district on Thursday morning.

Bhatkal, Honnavar, Kumta and Karwar received showers for nearly an hour. In the last 24 hours, the district received a maximum of 74.5 mm rainfall and a minimum of 6.7 mm rainfall.

Ankola received 4 mm of rainfall, while Bhatkal received 8.8 mm of rainfall, Haliyal - 1.9 mm and Honnavar - 19.8 mm, Karwar - 12.6 mm, Kumta - 20.7 mm, Siddapur - 0.6 mm, Sirsi - 3.5 mm, Joida - 1.6 mm and Yellapur received 1.0 mm of rainfall.

Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning lashed Chincholi taluk in Kalaburagi district on Thursday. No rainfall was reported from elsewhere in the district.

The taluk has been receiving rainfall for the past two days. Following the downpour, low-lying areas and fields were inundated and many roads in the town and villages were water-logged.
