Heavy rain lashed Raichur and Udupi while parts of Malnad witnessed intermittent rain on Saturday.

The residents of Raichur got a respite from the sweltering heat following a downpour on Saturday evening. Roads were flooded with rain water affecting the movement of vehicles. There were also reports of rain from Manvi and other parts of the taluk.

Intermittent rains continued to lash several parts of Shimoga district. Shimoga, Sagar, Shikaripur, Sorab, Bhadravathi, parts of  Hosanagar and Thirthahalli received rains throughout the day.

While rain receded in Mangalore, it rained heavily in the neighbouring Udupi district.

A 50-year-old man was washed away in flood waters at Debbeli in Harekala of Mangalore taluk on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Maxim Veigas. Sea erosion continued to wreak havoc in the two coastal districts.
