Rains resumed in parts of the district after a lull on Tuesday. Hosanagar, Sagar, Sorab, some parts of Thirthahalli and Bhadravathi received intermittent rain for a short period. It rained a while in the night in Shimoga town also.
There has been no drastic rise in water level of various dams. The water level at Linganamakki reservoir remained at 1813.40 feet against the maximum of 1819 feet.
Youth washed away
A 23-year-old youth was washed away in River Tungabhadra in Shirahatti taluk of Gadag district. Manjunath Nagappa Gaddi had been to Gaddi Basaveshwara temple swimming across the river. He was washed away while returning home.
The body was not traced till Tuesday night.
