Thousands of people thronged the five-day flower show, organised by the Horticulture department, at Cauvery Park, in the city, on Monday.

The flower show, which was being organised for the first time as part of Kannada Rajyotsava, evoked a good response. More than a lakh people visited the flower show on Sunday alone. There was a commotion at the ticket counters. According to sources, thousands of visitors returned disappointed due to the rush and the organisers stopped issuing tickets.

The premises of the Cauvery Park was illuminated just the way it is done during Dasara in Mysuru. A variety of flowers, in different colours, attracted the people. The musical fountain, a replica of Lord Shiva amid ice blocks and a sand sculpture of Lord Hanuman, were the main attractions.
