The new ration cards are being issued to the beneficiaries at all the Gram Panchayats in Srinivaspur taluk. People can obtain the new ration cards by surrendering the old ration cards, the officer in-charge Ravi, told Deccan Herald.
The date of issuing the new ration cards will be notified to the people earlier. The duration of the issuing process of the ration cards will be determined on the total number of cards to be issued.
People who cannot get the new ones within the stipulated period can obtain their ration cards from the office of neighbouring Gram Panchayats, the officer incharge informed.
He said that people who failed to obtain their ration cards from the designated Gram Panchayats need not panic. The uncollected ration cards will at last be returned to the Taluk Office. People who cannot collect them from GP offices can obtain from Taluk Offices, he explained.
However, the beneficiaries will be getting ration at the fair price shops, on presenting the old ration cards, till the new ones are distributed, the officer informed.
