Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (RDPR) Minister Krishna Byre Gowda visited the vented dam constructed using Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (NREGA) scheme at Netlamudnoor in Bantwal on Tuesday.
He said many more such vented dams using NREGA funds would be constructed to improve the groundwater table.
Every gram panchayat must have at least 50 such vented dams, to supply water to farmland, he pointed out.
