Mallikarjun Gowda (45), a landlord was rescued by a team of Bellary police from the hideout of the gang in a village near Ananthapur, they said.
Three persons of the six-member gang were arrested and a hunt was on to nab the others, said Bellary District Superintendent of Police Nagaraj.
