At a meeting of Sugrama gram panchayat women members held recently at the Zilla Panchayat office, it was decided to renew focus on the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in the district.
The Gram panchayat members and officials involved with the rural job scheme chalked out strategies to extend the scheme and create awareness. GP members Gracy D’Souza, Sebrin Lobo, Shashikala, Florine, Pushpalatha, Sunanda, Baagi, Chandrakala and others spoke on the success of the project. Ombudsman Sheena Shetty, Jana Shikshana Trust Director Krishna Moolya, Assistant Project Officer Arun Kumar, Horticulture department senior assistant director Sanjeeva Naik were present.
