Interacting with Deccan Herald, after visiting his constituency for the first after his coronation as Union Minister, Moily revealed his plans for the Chikkaballapur constituency. He said “Irrigation projects, education, drinking water and industries are all a priority for the constituency. One of my top priorities is to bring an IIT to Muddenahalli, the birth place of Sir M Visvesvaraya.”

Addressing a sizeable crowd at Hoskote taluk, Moily thanked the people of the Chikkaballapur constituency for giving him a “political rebirth”. Moily urged the people of his constituency to not take law into their own hands and place faith in the judicial system. “ If officials don’t dispense justice to the people, I promise you that their lives will become tough,” Moily said.

He said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi had given him a massive responsibility of ensuring justice to a billion people.

“Ensuring equality of law where justice is accessible and affordable will be my biggest challenge,” Moily said. He had earlier stated that judges would be appointed and scientific tools would be introduced into the system to ensure quick justice.

Moily said that a bill against the acquisition of fertile land by the government will be passed.

Emphasising the importance of education, he urged the parents to encourage children to study.

“There should be an impetus given to education in every home of my constituency. This will enable the children to stop begging and start demanding,” he said.
