"Several of my supporters are keen on staging rallies expressing support to me. But I told them to wait till my name is cleared from graft cases," he told a delegation of weavers and backward class leaders who called on him here.

The supporters of the former chief minister, facing charges of irregularities in denotification of government lands, had planned a rally in the city on November 20. Yeddyurappa, who was recently released on bail, said he bowed to the decision of BJP high command and RSS leaders and quit the chief minister's post, despite commanding support of 70 MLAs out of 120 in the state.

"I don't want to demoralise my supporters by narrating everything I underwent. But I am overwhelmed about the huge support I received after I came out of the jail", he said. Yeddyurappa said he would visit Hubli tomorrow as part of his efforts to strengthen the party in the state.
