River Kapila in spate; 50,000 cusecs released

The outflow of water from the Kabini dam across river Kapila at Beechanahalli in H D Kote Taluk of Mysuru district was increased as rains pounded parts of Kerala and Karnataka; specifically the catchment areas of the river Kapila.

As much as 50,000 cusec of water is being released from the Kabini dam from Wednesday. This water joins river Cauvery at T Narsipur.

Youth missing

Among the three youngsters, who dived into the Kapila river for a swim on Wednesday, near Belathuru bridge of Hampapura, H D Kote taluk, one went missing. The missing person is identified as Umesh.
