Based on a tip off, a team of officials led by Southern Railways division chief (vigilance) P J George and RPF Inspector P Vijayakumar conducted raids at three centres and found that the accused were engaged in reserving railway tickets under ‘Tatkal’ category in bogus names from the counters for an agent.

The agent in turn sells these tickets booked in advance to passengers outside at a very high price.

Cases were booked against the accused under the provisions of Indian Railways Act.

The railway police produced the accused before the chief judicial magistrate of Mangalore and later they were released on bail.

Investigation is on to reach to the main agent behind the racket.
