Rs 22 lakh robbed from Canara Bank

In a robbery incident at Jain temple road of Kadur town, robbers have looted Rs 22 lakh from the Canara Bank branch on Sunday night.

According to the complaint given by the bank Manager Dayanand Kadur, miscreants have drilled a hole in the roof of the strong room of the bank and robbed Rs 22,87,160.

As it was Sunday, robbers cut the roads of the toilet beside the strong room sawed a hole in the concrete roof the room.  The bank officials informed that there were ornaments worth Rs 10 crore in the locker. The miscreants have also left tattered notes worth Rs 37,000.Many people expressed fear as it was the biggest ever robbery in the history of Kadur.

The bank officials convinced them that their money is safe and allowed transaction in a nearby branch at U B road.  SP Santhosh Babu, DySP Rajan V Nayak, Kadur Circle Inspector Madhusudhan, SI B M Kale visited the spot.
