Rs 3 cr heist in Kasargod

 The burglars have gained entry into the safe room of the bank by removing a window and have decamped with jewellery worth Rs 3 crore and a cash of Rs 6.75 lakh kept in the locker. The intruders have cut off the power supply while entering the premises. The incident came to light as neighbours who heard sound from the bank premises immediately alerted the police.

It is said that the bank lacks adequate safety measures and attempts had been made to loot the bank, twice before.

Police have suspected the work of a ten member gang. Forensic experts visited the spot and dog squad was pressed into service. Primary leads have been obtained and a 15-member team constituted for investigation, said IGP Tomin.
