The state government will take up the construction of a new golden chariot at an estimated cost of Rs 80 crore at Kukke Subrahmanya Temple.

The administrative board will convene a meeting to discuss on the same on Monday.

The state government, when H D Kumaraswamy was chief minister in 2006, had given permission to building golden chariot. Accordingly, preparations had been made for it at an estimated cost of Rs 15 crore. Even the tender process had been initiated then. Due to technical hurdle, however, the process had stopped.
