A 22-year-old civil engineer was found hanging by using an (Kesari) orange cloth at his relative’s house in South police limits on Tuesday.

Babu hailed from Tumakuru and was residing at his relatives house at Srinagar in Mysuru. He was an Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activist.

Police said the incident came to light at 11 pm when his family members returned home. Police have recovered an eight-page suicide note. According to family members, Babu was under depression for a few days now and had mentioned in his note that “he is sacrificing his life for the prosperity of Hinduism”. Police said the note mentions a request not to conduct a post-mortem of his body but instead wrap him in an orange coloured cloth and perform last rites as per RSS protocol by sprinkling holy water from the Chamundeshwari temple and the Srikanteshwara temple. He also requested his family to immerse the ashes in Kanyakumari.
