Power generation was halted briefly on Tuesday afternoon after the cooler developed a defect. This was rectified and the unit was restarted later.
However, the unit was stopped again on Wednesday afternoon due to a defect in the boiler and generation of excess heat. Karnataka Power Corporation sources said it would take another 24 hours to rectify the technical snag.
