The State government will issue notices to 3,500 officials for their failure in providing time-bound services under the Sakaala scheme.

Addressing a press meet here on Saturday Sakaala Mission Director Shalini Rajneesh said the law provides for initiating disciplinary action against officials who err on more than seven occasions.

The officials found guilty could face show-cause notice, demotion, withholding of increments or promotion and even dismissal in case of serious nature of dereliction of duty.

Shalini said six persons have so far obtained compensation for delay in providing services under the Sakaala. The money will be paid by the Mission but recovered from the officials concerned.

“The State government provides as many as 1,800 services to citizens and presently 265 services have been brought under Sakaala. Steps are being taken to streamline the services,” she said.
