In a shocking revelation, a deputy tahsildar said, shortage of paper was hindering them from issuing acknowledgement for applications under Sakaala, the scheme that stipulates a deadline for clearing certain applications.

Sakaala Mission Director Shalini Rajaneesh had convened a meeting to review the progress of the scheme and to provide orientation for the officials in the district here on Monday.

When she pointed to the repeated complaints from the public that they were not getting acknowledgement for their applications and asked the reason for it, the officials had no reply.  Finally, the deputy tahsildar of Dudda hobli — Hombegowda — said, “Most of the times, there is no paper in the office to issue acknowledgment.”
Rajaneesh said that the SMS sent to mobile phones of the applicants can be considered as acknowledgement.

Meanwhile, at Channarayapatna, the same director had said that the applicants should compulsorily get acknowledgement for their applications. She was speaking to media persons in the town while she was visiting the computerised archives in the Mini Vidhana Soudha. She had warned the applicants that it would be difficult for them to avail the benefits under the scheme, if they did not have the acknowledgment.
