Speaking to Deccan Herald over phone from Bangalore, Farooq, who has returned to Bangalore from Bangkok, said that he would be filing a contempt of court case against the State government, which was responsible for creating a Joint House Committee to conduct an inquiry into the bribery case, while the case was still pending in the court.

“This was an insult to the judicial system. The Government should take back the admonition,” he said. Even before arriving at a conclusion, the Government should have consulted the Lokayukta, which is again a Government body.

If a common man is harassed by the Government in this way, then people will not come forward to fight against corruption, he said and added that former MLC and senior advocate A K Subbaiah will be representing his case.
