The census survey includes questions like have the members of the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe received the Constitution-provided facilities or not? What are the problems they are facing? What is their standard of living?

The census survey will play an important role in understanding the economic, social and cultural conditions of the lives of the members.
The taluk has been divided into 390 blocks. Twelve invigilators have been appointed for the 53 census officers.

The census work was delayed by several days due to unavoidable causes. But it has begun in all seriousness now, said tahsildar Poornima, speaking to DHNS. The information collected in the survey will be kept confidential, she added.
Village leaders M N Raju, Shivanna, Muninarayana, Manju Tulasi, Prabhakar Reddy, R C Reddappa, G T Munikrishnappa and others were present during the occasion.
In Shidlaghatta, the census survey began on Wednesday as per the accommodations set by the Justice A J Sadashiva Commission.

The survey is being conducted to investigate the Constitutional facilities for members of Scheduled Castes in Karnataka as well as the irregularities in their provisions.
It aims at ensuring that people belonging to Scheduled Castes get better basic facilities, said Shidlaghatta Town Municipal Council Chief Officer Channegowda.
The 27 wards of the town are divided into 12 blocks. Twelve teachers and Anganawadi workers have been appointed by the Public Welfare Department to conduct the survey, he added.
