Due to less rains, farmers on the other end of the irrigation canals are not receiving water in a required way which has affected the ongoing works.

Agricultural activities were also affected since it was already late when water was released from Harangi reservoir. Compared to the previous year, paddy transplantation is late by two weeks this year. The repair and maintenance works of the canals were taken up once the rainy season begun, which could have done much earlier. Due to this, water release was delayed. Farmers are anxious that the delay in transplantation will affect the final yield. Those at Hebbale, Torenur, Shirangala, Mudalukoppalu, who receive water from vent number 11, 12, 13, 17 and 18 are not getting water properly, farmers complained.
