However, this school at Pakiranahosahalli village in Shidlaghatta taluk seems to be an example to the contrary. Though housed in a large building it lacks maintenance and is not efficiently used.

The school is in ruins and the classrooms have been turned into a garbage dump yard with rampant growth of weeds, said a resident of Pakiranahosahalli village."Moreover, if timely action is not taken, the danger of encroachment of the school premises seems imminent," rued residents of the village.

The villagers said that the school was functioning well until recently, before it was closed down on the pretext of low attendance of students.

The State government which claims of allocating more funds to the Department of Education should provide adequate infrastructure to the school and ensure its reopening, observed the villagers.

Even though, the village has an anganwadi centre it is functioning in a private building, as it lacks its own structure. Both the Department of Education and the Grama Panchayat should ensure that the school and the anganwadi centre are provided with infrastructure, demanded the villagers.
