The parents of the students of Adarsha School, near Mellahalli, took the headmaster and a teacher to task, for asking them to sign an application, demanding the government to ban cow slaughter in the state.

The parents and members of various organisations, including Dalit Sangarsh Samiti, laid a siege to the school. According to the parents, the teachers have issued the applications to every student, asking them to get signature of their parents. The application, addressed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, states that cow slaughtering should be banned completely and measures should be taken to enrich cattle breeds.

Block Education Officer Mallikarjun said, the teachers did not inform the department about the application. The BEO assured of taking suitable action against the teachers and school management.
