Sea erosion threat for houses in DK dist

At least 18 houses are on the verge of collapse following the intensification of sea erosion in Ullal, Kaiko, Hilary Nagar and Rifayiya Nagar in Dakshina Kannada district. 

At least 100 people were shifted to a nearby godown for safety on Saturday.

Meantime, rain receded in Uttara Kannada district on Sunday. 

There had been heavy rains in these places in the past couple of days. More rain had been expected in these places by night, as there were dark clouds.  

In Dharwad, it rained for a short while. 

On Sunday, there was intermittent rainfall in Kumta, while it drizzled in Ankola, Honnavar and Karwar. 

There was drizzling and cloudy weather in some places and sunshine in other places of the Malnad and semi-arid regions of the State.
