It can be recalled that villagers had constructed a hanging bridge across Kommunje river and opened it for public use recently. The new 80 meters-long bridge was constructed by the Shridhama Manila Shri Mahalakshmi Seva Prathishtana and Peruvayi Grama Panchayat in association with local residents. The bridge provides connectivity to Kommunje in Vittal to Kaniyala of Kerala.

The bridge was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 40,000 under the guidance of Shridhama Manila Shrichakra Samsthana Pontiff Mohandasa Swamiji with people’s participation.  The bridge is a blessing for students, beedi works and villagers. It will reduce the distance of their destinations and also saves time. The State government has already sanctioned Rs 70 lakh through MLA’s fund for the construction of a bridge here and the process has already been started.

Mohandasa Swamiji inaugurated the hanging bridge in the presence of Peruvayi Gram Panchayat President Rajesh Balekallu, Member Shridhara Balekallu and Karnataka Bank retired manager Kommunje Venkatasubbarao.
