Harshith Shetty of Mangaluru zone has been selected for the Karnataka state cricket team under 14 category. The team will take part in the South zone cricket tournament scheduled to be held at Goa from January 5 to 15. He is a student of St Aloysius High School and is the son of Vijaykumar and Vijaya Shetty.

Disruption in power supply

There will be a disruption in power supply from 11kv Infosys, Yeyyadi, Vamanjooru, Haripadavu, Bajpe feeders on January 4 between 10 am and 4 pm. The areas to be affected are Derebail, Konchadi, Malemar, Prashanthnagara, Kuntikana, Bondel, K H B Colony, Pacchanady, Krishnanagara, Padavinangady, Maryhill, Yeyyadi, Konchadi, Haripadavu, KPT, Vyasa Nagara and surrounding areas. The power supply at Swamilapadavu, Bhatrakere, Permude, Hunsekatte, Kanikatta and surrounding areas will be affected between 9.30 am and 5 pm.

NSS camp concludes

The valedictory programme of annual special camp of National Service Scheme of St Philomena College Puttur was held in DKZP Upper Higher Primary School Odya, Panaje of Puttur taluk. Associate Professor in Political Science, Government First Grade College for women, Puttur Prof Ivan Francis D'Souza delivered the valedictory address. He said, "Labour, work and action are the three important determinants of success in all our activities."

Pigmentary camp

The skin department of Father Muller Medical College Hospital has arranged 'Pigmentary camp' from January 8 to 13 between 9 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 4 pm.

The facilities offered during the week are free registration, free medicines for black pigmentation (first two days), blood investigations and procedures at concessional rates, stated a release.

Wins paper presentation

Aleena Paul, Vth Pharm D student of Srinivas College of Pharmacy, was declared the winner of best paper presentation award based on the quality of her scientific presentation at the recently held national conference on Pharmacy and Medication Management conducted by Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital, Pune. Fifteen Pharm D students representing Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Valachil, presented original scientific papers in the poster session of the conference.
