A voter takes a picture of himself voting at a polling booth in Athani Assembly constituency in Belagavi district. The picture has gone viral on social media.
While people taking selfies soon after casting their votes was common on Saturday, this voter has gone a step further. Though using mobile phones inside the polling booth is banned, the voter got away by taking a picture of himself casting the vote.
The picture instantly became viral. A close look at the EVM reveals that the picture was taken in one of the polling stations in Athani, where, sitting MLA Laxman Savadi is seeking re-election.
Girish Kedarappa Butali and Mahesh Iranagouda Kumathalli are the JD(S) and Congress candidates, respectively.
