Shobha admits district's poor show

Speaking with reporters here on Thursday, she said though Chikkaballapur and Ramanagar districts came into being at the same time, the district has not progressed as expected. She promised to focus more on developmental projects in the district.

Licence suspended

The residents of various villages of Bagepalli taluk protested in front of DC’s office alleging irregularities in Public Distribution System. They accused Bagepalli Food Inspector Rajanna and Turukeshapalli’s Fair Price Shop owner Nagaraju of having indulged in irregularities.

The protesters alleged that the duo sell the grains and kerosene meant for PDS at black market.

“Repeated complaints to the Inspector did not yield any result,” they said. They demanded action against them.

Minister Karandlaje who came to the spot, received memorandum from the protesters. She directed the officers to cancel Nagaraju’s license and promised to take action against erring officer.

Deputy Commissioner N Manjula, Superintendent of Police T D Pawar and others were present.
