A few parts in the state continued to receive unseasonal rainfall on Friday.

Various parts of Haveri, Hanagal, Hirekerur and Haunsabhavi in Haveri district received moderate rainfall, accompanied with thunder and lightning. Dank weather prevailed throughout the day, along with cold breeze.

Dharwad received moderate rainfall for more than half an hour bringing down the mercury level. Vendors who had set up stalls on account of Ugadi festivities had to dash for cover. Hubballi too received showers for sometime.

Couple Sanjeeva Moolya and Sarojini died after lightning struck their house at Kokradi in Belthangady taluk, Dakshina Kannada district, on Thursday night. When lightning struck, the couple noticed fire inside their house and they ran out. On coming in contact with the wet ground, both were electrocuted. Heavy rain coupled with hailstorm lashed Subrahmanya, Sullia, Puttur and Kumbra in the district.

Ramdurg and Bailhongal towns and their surrounding areas in Belagavi district received unseasonal showers for nearly half an hour bringing down day time temperatures. Overcast conditions had been prevailing for the past couple of days.

Moderate rainfall accompanied by hailstorms and lightning lashed some parts of Shivamogga district. Sagara, Hosanagara, Shikaripura and Thirthahalli received moderate rainfall.
