Revanna was caught while he was trying to illegally transport sand from Yelwala recently by SI Basavanna. The sub inspector had suggested to Revanna that in order to have a ‘smooth passage’ for sand in the future, Revanna had to shell out Rs 15,000 every month as ‘maamool’.
Revanna then approached Lokayukta and Basavanna was trapped when he was receiving the said amount.
