Siddaganga seer develops fever, recovers

Siddaganga Mutt seer Dr Shivakumara Swami, who had developed fever on Thursday night, recovered on Friday, with the fever subsiding. The seer had complained of pain. The seer had underwent a liver surgery at Dr Rela Hospital in Chennai, last week.

The room of the pontiff in the old Mutt has been converted into a special ward where he is being treated. The doctors had planned to shift the 111-year-old seer to the ICU of Siddaganga Hospital on Thursday night. But, finally they decided to continue the treatment at the Mutt itself. Despite sufferring from fever, the seer performed ‘Ishta Linga Pooja’ on Friday morning, sources in the Mutt said.

More police personnel have been deployed at the Mutt and devotees had been requested not to seek darshan of the seer.
