Former chief minister Siddaramaiah has no moral right to seek votes from the people of Kodagu, said BJP candidate Pratap Simha.
Speaking after offering prayers at Chowdeshwari Temple in Madikeri on Monday, he said that Kaginele seer had stated that the natural calamity in Kodagu was the result of defeating Siddaramaiah. But Siddaramaiah did not condemn the statement.
Also, when coalition candidate C H Vijayashankar was the forest minister, he did not oppose the implementation of the Kasturirangan report, which would be detrimental for Kodagu. Vijayashankar too has lost his right to ask for votes, said Simha.
Pratap Simha further said that he has worked honestly during the last five years, for the progress of Kodagu. He is confident of getting the people’s blessings.
Speaking during an election campaign of BJP in Somwarpet, Pratap Simha said that celebrating the birthday of a tyrant is the contribution of Siddaramaiah to Kodagu.
“Siddaramaiah is a bigot. He has paved the way for the destruction of JD(S) by fielding Sumalatha in Mandya,” said Simha.
He further said that the Modi led Central government has achieved in five years what could not be achieved by Congress during the last 60 years.
BJP district unit president B B Bharatish, former MLC S G Medappa, leaders Abhimanyu Kumar, V K Lokesh and V M Vijaya were present.
