Simple lifestyle was the key to conserving natural resources said, Honorary secretary of Deenabandhu Trust G S Jayadeva.

Speaking at a programme on the ‘youths role in conserving environment’ on the second day of National Integration camp at J H Patel auditorium in Chamarajanagar on Monday, he stressed on protecting natural resources.

India has 25 per cent of forest resources which is being destroyed due to the greed of the humans. If a felled tree fetches Rs 15,000, the same tree had the potential to produce oxygen worth Rs 45 lakh, he said.

Hence, the onus of creating awareness on conserving forests was on the youths, he said.
With the soaring temperature, it had become inevitable to use refrigerators and air coolers, which affected the ozone layer.
