A meeting of senior officials of forest department will be held in Bangalore on September 27 in this regard.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said in the name of afforestation, acacia and eucalyptus plants are planted in forests. Both these trees are not helpful for birds as they bear no fruits. Besides, those plants deplete water table, thereby affecting the growth of other plants around them.
