Soldiers to be remembered

About 527 brave young men of the Indian Army sacrificed their lives driving out the Pakistani intruders. The war also saw 1,363 soldiers sustaining injuries. Four of the casualties were from Karnataka. On Sunday, wreaths will be laid at Minsk Square War Memorial, near GPO, by CM B S Yeddyurappa and ex-servicemen at 11 am.

In a release by Colonel S S Rajan, State Convener of the Indian Ex-Servicemen’s Movement, all citizens have been requested to light a lamp in front of their homes as a mark of remembrance to the martyrs.
