“I have directed the officials to issue the notice to him (Varthur Prakash) seeking explanation on the petition. A voter of the legislator’s constituency has filed a petition seeking disqualification of the MLA for joining hands with the BJP recently,” Bopaiah said.
The independent MLA extended his support to the ruling BJP and helped the Yeddyurappa Government to win the trust vote when a dozen of the BJP MLAs withdrew their support recently. When contacted, Varthur Prakash refused to comment.
