Actor Arjun Kapikad lauded the efforts of St Agnes College’s Journalism and Mass Communication department for spreading social messages and bringing positive changes in the society with short films.

He addressed the gathering at ‘Spectrum 2019’, a national level short film contest organised by the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism in the college on Sunday.

Arjun felt that platforms like ‘Spectrum’ were important to bring out film making talents in students. He urged budding artists to be part of the Tulu films which is now a flourishing industry.

St Agnes College Principal Sr Dr Jeswina said the objective behind short film making competition was to create awareness on social issues. The event coincides with the centenary celebrations of the college,she said adding that 21 entries were received by Spectrum. This included films from Kolkata and Tamil Nadu. Some films were screened on the occasion.
