 CKDA Secretary K Prabhakar Rao, Member Gujjadi Prabhakar Nayak and Karnataka State Planning Board Member Prof G V Joshi were appointed as the members of the special committee.

The decision was taken by the CKDA at a meeting convened by Chairman B Nagaraj Shetty at its office here on Saturday. CKDA Secretary K Prabhakar Rao stated in a press release that the Authority has given its approval for the development of state highway 67, which connects Manipal and Bajpe Airport. Authority also approved the tender process for the preparation of feasibility report on the project.

The authority will prepare a feasibility report on renovation of fish markets in Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Udupi districts. The memorandum submitted by Mangalore Fisheries College, Dakshina Kannada District Parisarasaktara Okkoota and Fisherwomen Organisations with regard to the renovation of fish markets will be considered.

It was also decided in the meet to prepare a feasibility report on rehabilitation of residents, who were hit by the landslide at Jaravada in Karwar. Another feasibility report will be prepared to chose five villages each from three coastal districts to implement solar electricity scheme in 2010-11.

A research document on development schemes of coastal districts will be brought out by the Authority. Prof G V Joshi and K Prabhakar Rao have been appointed as editors of the document.
