Mysuru: The government’s objective is to provide standard healthcare to the people of all districts. It has been decided to provide an MRI facility at the government hospital in Mysuru soon, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Day Care Chemotherapy Centres at 16 district centres via videoconference at the District Hospital in Metagalli, in Mysuru, on Friday. He also assured of such centres in all the remaining districts.
"It is difficult for the poor to go to Bengaluru for treatment. That is why Jayadeva Hospital was started in Mysuru, Hubballi and Kalaburagi. The day care chemotherapy centres have been set up at district hospitals for their benefit. Kidwai hospitals will be opened on the same model. NIMHANS branches will also be started in Mysuru and Kalaburagi," he assured.
People should shed the opinion that they will be cured only in private hospitals. There are more experienced doctors in government hospitals. "Aren't we getting the best service at Jayadeva Hospital?" he asked.
The CM also recalled that he underwent angioplasty around six years ago. "Now I have forgotten it. If we are mentally stronger, we will live longer. I am 78 years old now. I will live for another 25 years, he said, bringing smiles on the faces of the gathering".
Follow good lifestyle habits for healthy living. Every person should undergo an annual health checkup, he advised.
