Janata Dal (S) State unit president H D Kumaraswamy claimed that the upcoming Assembly elections in Karnataka was crucial as it would decide the prospects of the formation of the Third Front at the national level.
Speaking to mediapersons after paying abeyance at the Ajmer Dargah here on Tuesday, former chief minister of Karnataka said: “People of the country are fed up with the two national parties— the Congress and the BJP. The Third Front can be a reality, if only the regional parties come out with a strong conviction and offer a credible developmental agenda to the people.”
To a query on the future of Karnataka Janata Paksha, a party floated by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, he said the KJP would be wiped out in the Assembly elections.
He added that the JD(S) would contest in all the 224 Assembly constituencies in the State. The list of nominees has been finalised and it would be announced shortly, he said.
