MLA G T Devegowda, who has maintained a distance from the JD(S) activities on Monday, advised his party leader, former chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy to maintain a distance from people like 'Shakuni' of Mahabharata and 'Manthara' of Ramayana, to save the party. Devegowda also claimed that he is still in the JD(S).

Speaking to reporters here, Devegowda, without taking the name of KR Nagar MLA Sa Ra Mahesh said, “Kumaraswamy is disrespecting me, by listening to a Shakuni."

Devegowda asked Kumaraswamy, “Have I involved in any anti-party activity. Did I speak against the party? Have I ever damaged the party? Kumaraswamy has been criticising me, because of the Mysuru High Command.”

"Kumaraswamy has said that Devegowda will be expelled from the JD(S). But, I respect Kumaraswamy’s leadership. However, the Shakuni is misleading him. Kumaraswamy should not listen to people like 'Shakuni' and 'Manthara'. You (Kumaraswamy) served as chief minister of the state twice. Understand facts before speaking anything. Don’t copy whatever they say,” he said.

Devegowda said, "Now, Kumaraswamy is going against party supporters in Mysuru Milk Union (MyMUL) election. Kumaraswamy is campaigning against JD(S) MLA K Mahadevu’s son and supporting Congress leader Venkatesha’s supporters in MyMUL."
