A furious stray canine attacked 10 people and injured them, at Shankarapura in the city on Tuesday.

Rakshita, an eighth standard student in Ambedkar School, Lakshmamma of Lakshminagar, Gurumurthy of Hosamane layout, Roopa of Gauri Kaluve, Nagaraj, Veerabhadrappa and Premkumar of Shankarapura, Jyothi of Kurubarahalli, Mohan Kumar of Banakal and Navin of Kate are the injured. They have been admitted to the district hospital.

The stray dog went on a biting spree from 12 noon on Tuesday and bit whoever it came across at Shankarapura and Togarihankal Circle.

An eyewitness said that seeing the dog going berserk, some people killed the dog thinking that it might have been infected with rabies.
