A group of students assaulted their collegemate at the government college here for refusing to wear saffron shawl on Wednesday.
Final year BA students Raghavendra, Jeevan, Sandeep and 4th semester student Abhishek waylaid and attacked Jayant Naika, also a 4th semester student, as he was not wearing the shawl on arriving at the college. He later lodged a complaint at the city station.
The assaulters surrendered in the court, which granted them bail.
