The DDPI and others visited the school in the wake of students suddenly taking ill after consuming mid day meals prepared at the school. Some of them were even admitted to the Government Hospital at Kollegal on Thursday evening.
After getting to know about the incident, DDPI and Tahsildar on special duty Rangaswamaiah, mid day meals Assistant Director, ZP Education Standing Committee Chairman Koppali Mahadeva Nayaka, ZP Member Nagendra Babu and others visited the school and took stock of the situation. Villagers demanded that the head master and staff members should be transfered out of the place since they had not displayed any sense of responsibility about mid day meals and the level of bad hygiene that exists in the place.
ZP members took the officers to task about total chaos relating to preparing mid day meals in the school. They instructed the students who were lying on the planks out of ill health, be sent to the hospital immediately.
