Instead of blocking the entire road, one lane of the road will be closed during the work, while the vehicles can move on the other lane. Earlier, in a meeting presided over by MLA Angara on Monday, it was decided for the complete closure of the road. However, the public did not favoured the decision, as they criticised the elected representatives for not inviting traders, organisations and media for the meet.

In the meeting which was held on Thursday which was chaired by Tahsildar, it was also decided not to close the Sullia-Madikeri State Highway during the drainage and road work.

The road work has already begun and the vehicles are allowed to ply on the road.

The drainage work in Sullia town too has begun and the vehicles are allowed to move on one side of the road.
